Verschoor developed, produced and directed the first four seasons of MTV’s groundbreaking series The Real World and the acclaimed special, A Tribute To Pedro Zamora. He then went on to produce and direct other series for MTV, including MTV's Fear, Undressed, Now What?, and the original slacker comedy, Austin Stories. He also directed the pilot and multiple episodes of the Howard Stern comedy show Son of the Beach

In 2001, Verschoor founded Hoosick Falls Productions.[1] As part of Hoosick Falls Productions’ overall deal with Fox Television Studios, Verschoor created and executive produced the first-ever reality/scripted hybrid, Murder in Small Town X. Verschoor then produced the documentary The Women of K2 for National Geographic, profiling the women who have attempted to climb the world’s deadliest mountain.

Verschoor created and was executive producer / showrunner of the live music competition Nashville Star for USA Network/NBC, along with multiple other musical series and specials, including the hip hop comedies Jamie Kennedy's Blowin' Up and Shwayze, both for MTV. In 2009, Verschoor executive produced the David Lynch Foundation’s charity concert event Change Begins Within, headlined by Sir Paul McCartney, and featuring Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Jerry Seinfeld and Sheryl Crow.
